Healing Through Scripture | Biblical Encouragement for Health & Uncertain Seasons

Healing Through Scripture

A Christian podcast about healing, restoration, and standing on God’s Word in every season.

Healing Through Scripture is a faith-based podcast for people walking through seasons that stretch them, whether that’s emotional healing, physical challenges, anxiety, grief, identity shifts, spiritual dryness, relationship strain, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.

This isn’t just about health.

It’s about restoration.

Because healing in the Kingdom of God is not limited to one category.
Scripture works the same, whether your healing is physical, emotional, mental, relational, or spiritual.

This is learning how to stand on God’s Word when circumstances feel loud.

Healing Through Scripture is a space where we:
• Break down specific Bible verses
• Apply them practically

What if you have a testimony… and you just haven’t recognized it yet?
When we hear the word testimony, we often think of the dramatic stories, the addiction, the diagnosis, the broken marriage, the rock-bottom moment, the miraculous turnaround.
And because our story doesn’t sound like someone else’s, we may quietly think:
“I don’t really have a testimony.”
But does a Christian testimony have to be dramatic to matter?
Not at all.
Sometimes a testimony sounds like:
God kept me.God redirected me.God provided.God changed me.God carried me.God gave me peace while I was still waiting.
And sometimes it’s simply:
“I’m still here and I can see now that God was with me the whole time.”
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we’re unpacking what a testimony really is, why your salvation story isn’t the only story of God’s faithfulness you may have to tell, and how recognizing what God has already done can strengthen your faith for what you’re walking through today.
Because maybe you don’t need a more dramatic testimony.
Maybe you need to recognize God’s fingerprints on the story you’re already living.
In This Episode
We’re talking about:
What a Christian testimony actually is
Whether everyone has a testimony
Why your testimony doesn’t have to be dramatic
The difference between your salvation testimony and other stories of God’s faithfulness
Why we tend to minimize the “small” things God has done
How remembering past faithfulness can strengthen present faith
The Samaritan woman and the power of simply saying, “Come see”
What the man healed in John 9 teaches us about sharing what we know
Whether you can have a testimony while your story is still unfinished
Why comparison can cause us to dismiss our own story
How your testimony can encourage someone walking through what you’ve already survived
Why sharing a testimony doesn’t mean sharing every private detail of your life
A simple four-part framework for identifying and sharing your testimony
How to begin keeping a record of God’s faithfulness in your own life
Scriptures From This Episode
Psalm 66:16 — Tell What God Has Done
“Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.”
This may be one of the simplest descriptions of testimony.
A testimony isn’t about making ourselves the hero.
It’s saying:
“Let me tell you what God has done.”
John 4 — The Samaritan Woman
After encountering Jesus at the well, the Samaritan woman went back to her town and told others about Him.
John 4:39 tells us that many Samaritans believed because of her testimony.
She didn’t wait until she understood everything.
She encountered Jesus and told people about Him.
Your testimony doesn’t need to make people impressed with you.
It can make them curious about Him.
John 9 — “I Was Blind, But Now I See”
After Jesus healed the man who had been blind from birth, people began questioning him.
He didn’t pretend to have every answer.
He knew what had happened to him.
Sometimes sharing your testimony can be that simple:
This is where I was. This is where God met me.This is what happened. This is what is different now.
You don’t have to know everything about God to tell someone what God has done in your life.
Revelation 12:11 — The Word of Their Testimony
Scripture speaks about overcoming through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
Our stories are not formulas or guarantees that God will do exactly the same thing for someone else.
They are witnesses.
This is where I saw God.This is how He carried me.This is what He taught me.This is what His Word did in me.
And sometimes hearing what God has done in someone else’s life gives us hope to keep walking through our own.
Does My Testimony Have to Be Dramatic?
No.
We can unintentionally measure the importance of a testimony by how dramatic it sounds.
But what if your story is:
God kept me close.
What if He protected you from something?
What if He redirected your life?
What if the circumstance didn’t change but you did?
What if God gave you enough strength to make it through another day?
What if He brought a person into your life at exactly the right time?
What if a Scripture became an anchor when you desperately needed one?
Those stories matter too.
Sometimes the miracle isn't:
“God pulled me out.”
Sometimes it's:
“God carried me through.”
What If My Story Isn’t Finished Yet?
Maybe you're still waiting.
Still healing.
Still praying.
Still grieving.
Still walking through the situation you wish you could already tell people about in the past tense.
You don't need to manufacture a happy ending to have evidence of God's faithfulness.
Maybe you can't say:
“God changed my circumstances.”
But perhaps you can say:
“God is sustaining me in my circumstances.”
There can be testimony even in an unfinished story.
How Do I Share My Testimony?
If you don't know where to begin, start with four simple questions:
1. What was I walking through? What was happening in your life?
2. Where did God meet me?Was it through Scripture, prayer, another person, a circumstance, church, or something else?
3. What did God do?Did He change the situation? Change you? Provide? Redirect? Restore? Comfort? Give you peace?
4. What is different now? What do you know about God today that you didn't understand before? What would you tell someone walking through the same thing?
You don't need a perfectly polished story.
You need an honest one.
Your Challenge This Week
Open your journal or Notes app and write:
MY TESTIMONIES
Yes....plural.
Then start looking backward.
Where has God provided?
Where has He protected?
Where has He redirected you?
What prayers has He answered?
What doors has He closed?
What Scripture carried you?
Where did He give you peace?
Where did He change your heart?
What have you survived that you once wondered whether you'd make it through?
Start writing it down.
Because today's answer to prayer can easily become tomorrow's forgotten testimony.
And maybe you'll discover:
You didn't need a more dramatic story.
You simply needed to recognize God's fingerprints on the story you've already been living.
Your Story May Help Someone Else
One reason I'm so excited about exploring testimonies on Healing Through Scripture is because somebody may be walking through something you've already walked through.
Someone may be praying:
“God, I just need to know I'm not the only one.”
And somewhere else, someone may be thinking:
“My story isn't important enough to share.”
What if those two people need each other?
Your testimony doesn't promise someone else the same outcome.
But it can say:
“I've been there.”
“This is where God met me.”
“This is what I learned.”
“This is the Scripture I held onto.”
“This is what I wish someone had told me.”
Never underestimate the ministry of:
“Me too.”
Healing Through Scripture Is Growing — Meet HTS Faithwear
Something new is growing from the same heart behind this podcast, and I'm so excited to finally start sharing it with you.
Introducing HTS Faithwear.
Healing Through Scripture began from my own healing journey and the Scriptures I continually returned to when fear tried to speak louder than truth.
Now I'm taking some of those truths and creating something we can actually wear.
And the first signature design couldn't be more connected to my own testimony:
HEALED ALREADY
Inspired by Isaiah 53:5:
“By His wounds we are healed.”
These aren't meant to simply be cute hats with Christian sayings.
I want every piece of HTS Faithwear to point back to something deeper:
Scripture. Truth. Testimony.
Words that remind us what we're anchoring ourselves to.
Words we can speak.
Words we can wear.
And maybe even words that start a conversation.
Because imagine someone asking:
“Why does your hat say Healed Already?”
Suddenly, you have an opportunity to tell them the story behind the words.
Wear your faith. Speak His truth.
You can follow the entire faithwear journey, see new releases, and come behind the scenes as I build this new part of Healing Through Scripture on Instagram and TikTok at @HTSfaithwear.
And I'm bringing the entire Healing Through Scripture world together at:
HealingThroughScripture.com
That's where I'm building a home for HTS Faithwear, along with the Healing Through Scripture resources I've created to help you keep God's Word in front of you throughout your own healing journey.
The podcast.
The Scripture resources.
The faithwear.
The stories.
It's all coming from the same mission:
Keeping our eyes on the Healer through every season of healing.
And as we begin talking more about testimonies here, I want you to keep asking yourself:
What's my testimony?
Because maybe you've been telling yourself you don't have one.
Maybe...
you've been living it all along.
One Step. One Scripture. One Day at a Time.

Have you ever reached a point where you thought:
“God, I don't think I can handle one more thing.”
It's not just one hard circumstance.
It's one thing after another.
The unexpected news. The relationship struggle. The financial pressure. The health concern. Something happening with someone you love. The prayer you're still waiting for God to answer.
Eventually, you may find yourself wondering:
Why does everything keep happening to me?
Maybe you've even said it:
“I feel like Job.”
But what does the book of Job actually teach us about seasons when life doesn't make sense?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're going beyond the simplified version of Job's story. Job suffered, Job stayed faithful, God restored him, and looking at what happened in the middle.
Because Job grieved.
Job questioned.
Job wanted answers.
His friends tried to explain his suffering.
And when God finally spoke, Job didn't receive the neat explanation we might expect.
Instead, he encountered God Himself.
Maybe you've been thinking:
If God would just tell me WHY this is happening, then I could finally have peace.
But what if peace doesn't always require an explanation?
What if faith sometimes looks like saying:
“I don't understand what God is doing, but I still know who God is.”
In This Episode
We're unpacking what Job teaches us about:
How to trust God when life doesn't make sense
What to do when it feels like it's one thing after another
Whether suffering means you've done something wrong
Why we should be careful about assuming someone's hardship is punishment from God
What Job's friends initially got right, and where they went wrong
Why sometimes presence is more helpful than an explanation
Whether you can question God and still have faith
How Job expressed grief without walking away from God
What it means to declare “I know that my Redeemer lives” while you're still in the middle of suffering
Why God doesn't always give us the “why” we're looking for
How changing circumstances can distort the way we see an unchanging God
Why we shouldn't build our identity around “everything always happens to me”
Practical ways to anchor yourself in Scripture during a Job season
Why Job's restoration shouldn't be reduced to a formula that promises everyone will receive “double” after suffering
Scriptures From This Episode
Job 1–2 — When It's One Thing After Another
Job is introduced as a man who fears God, yet devastating losses begin piling up.
One detail is especially striking: before Job has time to process one report, another messenger arrives.
Sometimes that's exactly what a hard season feels like.
You haven't recovered from one thing before another happens.
Sometimes we're not struggling with one difficult circumstance.
We're exhausted from carrying the accumulation of them.
Job 2:11–13 — When Someone You Love Is Hurting
Before Job's friends attempted to explain his suffering, they did something beautiful:
They sat with him.
For seven days they shared his grief without trying to fix it.
Sometimes the person walking through suffering doesn't need us to explain what God is doing.
Sometimes they need someone willing to say:
“I'm here.”
Job 19:25 — “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”
This declaration doesn't come after Job's circumstances have been restored.
It comes in the middle of his suffering.
That distinction matters.
Faith isn't only declaring God's goodness when everything looks good.
Sometimes faith sounds like:
“I don't understand any of this—and I still know my Redeemer lives.”
Job 38–41 — When God Finally Answers
Job wants answers.
But when God speaks, He doesn't simply give Job a detailed explanation for everything that has happened.
Instead, God reveals His wisdom, power, authority, and sovereignty.
Job is reminded that God's perspective is infinitely larger than his own.
Sometimes that's where trust begins:
accepting that God can see what we cannot.
Job 42:5 — Knowing God Differently
Job says:
“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.”
Before we rush to Job's material restoration, don't miss what happened inside Job.
His encounter with God changed him.
Sometimes we can look back at a season we would never choose to repeat and still recognize:
“I met God there in a way I hadn't known Him before.”
Does Suffering Mean God Is Punishing Me?
One of the biggest mistakes Job's friends make is trying to create a simple explanation for his suffering.
Something bad happened.
Therefore, Job must have done something bad.
But the opening chapters of Job don't support their conclusion.
That's important for anyone walking through a healing journey.
A diagnosis, loss, unanswered prayer, or difficult season can cause us to start searching for something to blame:
Did I do something wrong?
Did I not pray enough?
Did I not have enough faith?
Is God punishing me?
Job reminds us to be careful about explanations Scripture hasn't given us.
And when someone else is hurting, their suffering is not permission for us to become detectives trying to determine what they did wrong.
Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is simply walk beside them.
Can I Question God and Still Have Faith?
Job did.
Scripture doesn't hide his grief, confusion, frustration, or questions.
Faith doesn't require pretending.
There's a difference between walking away from God because we don't understand and bringing what we don't understand directly to Him.
God already knows what hurts.
He already knows what you're thinking.
He already knows the question you're afraid to say aloud.
You can bring it to Him.
When You Don't Get the “Why”
Sometimes we believe:
“If God would just explain why this happened, then I could trust Him.”
But Job challenges that idea.
Job doesn't receive every explanation the reader might expect.
Instead, he encounters the character and greatness of God.
And that leaves us with a difficult but powerful truth:
You don't have to understand what God is doing to trust who God is.
Your circumstances may change.
Your feelings may change.
The information you have today may change tomorrow.
But God's character doesn't change with them.
When you don't know why, return to Who.
5 Things to Do When Your Life Feels Like Job
1. Let yourself grieve.Faith doesn't require pretending something doesn't hurt.
2. Stop trying to explain everything. You may not have enough information to understand why something happened—and you don't need to manufacture an answer.
3. Pay attention to who you're listening to.Not every spiritual-sounding explanation is biblical wisdom.
4. Return to what you know. When you don't know why, return to what Scripture tells you about who God is.
5. Take today's step. You don't need enough strength for the next six months today.
Come back to:
One Step. One Scripture. One Day at a Time.
Take This Scripture With You
If you're currently walking through your own “Job season,” take Job 19:25 with you this week:
“I know that my Redeemer lives.”
Take ten quiet minutes.
Get outside.
Walk.
Pray.
And ask:
“God, what do I know about You even though I don't understand what's happening around me?”
When your thoughts return to everything you don't know, intentionally bring yourself back to what you do know.
Something New Is Growing at Healing Through Scripture
If you've been here for a while, you know Healing Through Scripture began from my own healing journey and the Scriptures I kept returning to when fear tried to speak louder than truth.
And now, I'm so excited to finally share another piece of what Healing Through Scripture is becoming.
I've officially launched HTS Faithwear—faithwear created around the same heart behind this podcast:
keeping God's truth in front of us and giving us tangible reminders of the words we're choosing to believe and speak.
And the first launch couldn't be more personal to me.
HEALED ALREADY
Isaiah 53:5 became an anchor Scripture during my healing journey:
“By His wounds we are healed.”
Those words eventually inspired HEALED ALREADY, and now they've become the heart behind the first HTS Faithwear hats.
For me, it's so much more than putting words on a hat.
It's about creating something you can wear as a reminder of the Word you're anchoring yourself to.
Put it on.
See the words.
Remember the Scripture behind them.
Speak truth over your circumstances.
And when someone asks you what your hat means, maybe it even becomes an opportunity to share what God has done, or what you're trusting Him to do—in your life.
That's the heart behind HTS Faithwear:
Wear your faith.Speak His truth.
And this is only the beginning.
I've created dedicated HTS Faithwear social channels on Instagram and TikTok at @HTSfaithwear, where I'll be sharing the new hats, upcoming faithwear, behind-the-scenes creation, launches, custom pieces, and more.
So if you've been watching this part of Healing Through Scripture grow, I'd love for you to come over and be part of it from the very beginning.
A New Home for Healing Through Scripture
I'm also working behind the scenes to bring everything together in one place at HealingThroughScripture.com.
My heart is for this to become more than simply a place to shop.
I'm building it as a home for Healing Through Scripture, where you'll be able to find the faithwear alongside the resources I've created from the things I wish I'd had during my own healing journey.
The Scriptures.
The encouragement.
The practical tools.
The reminders that help us continually turn our minds back toward truth.
And yes...the things we can actually wear to remind ourselves of it, too.
So there is a lot happening behind the scenes right now, and I'm incredibly excited to finally start bringing you into it.
If you want to follow the faithwear journey, find @HTSfaithwear on Instagram and TikTok.
And visit HealingThroughScripture.com as I continue adding the faithwear and Healing Through Scripture resources there.
Because whether it's something you hear on this podcast...
something you read in God's Word...
a resource you keep beside your Bible...
or words you're literally wearing...
the heart behind it hasn't changed:
Keep the truth in front of you.
Wear your faith. Speak His truth.
And keep walking it out....

Have you ever met someone at exactly the right time and thought:
“There’s no way that was just a coincidence.”
Maybe you were walking through a difficult healing season and someone entered your life with the encouragement, connection, wisdom, Scripture, or testimony you needed.
Maybe someone connected you with a doctor.
A friend called at exactly the right moment.
A stranger said something you desperately needed to hear.
Or someone shared their story and suddenly you realized:
I’m not the only one who has walked through this.
We often call moments like these divine appointments.
But what does that actually mean? Are divine appointments biblical? How do we recognize when God may be placing someone in our path, and how do we keep from assigning spiritual meaning to every coincidence?
And there’s another side to this conversation:
What if sometimes YOU are the divine appointment?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we’re looking at biblical examples of God using unexpected encounters, relationships, conversations, and ordinary acts of obedience for His purposes—and what that can mean during our own healing journeys.
Because sometimes we’re so focused on asking God to change our circumstances that we almost miss the people He has placed inside them.
In This Episode
We’re talking about:
What we mean when we say “divine appointment”
Whether the idea of divine appointments is biblical
How God can use people and relationships during a healing journey
Why not every coincidence needs to be labeled a message from God
How to discern an unexpected encounter through Scripture and prayer
Philip and the Ethiopian official in Acts 8
What Ruth and Naomi teach us about relationships during seasons of grief
Jesus and the woman at the well
Why God's provision can sometimes come through people
How an ordinary conversation can have an extraordinary impact
Why resistance doesn't necessarily mean you're outside God's will
How someone else's testimony can strengthen us during our own healing
Why your healing story may eventually help someone walking behind you
How to become more available for God to use in someone else's life
Scriptures From This Episode
Proverbs 16:9
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.”
We can make plans, but God sees the entire road ahead of us—including the people whose paths may cross ours.
Acts 8:26–40 — Philip and the Ethiopian
Philip follows God's direction to a particular road and encounters an Ethiopian official reading from Isaiah. Philip is able to explain the Scripture and share the good news about Jesus.
Philip's obedience placed him exactly where he needed to be for an encounter that would change another person's life.
Ruth 1:16 — Ruth and Naomi
“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.”
Ruth couldn't remove Naomi's grief, but she could walk beside her through it.
Sometimes God's provision during a difficult season comes through the people who refuse to let us walk alone.
John 4 — Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
What begins as an unexpected conversation at a well becomes a life-changing encounter.
And then something powerful happens:
She tells other people.
John 4:39 tells us that many Samaritans believed because of the woman's testimony.
Her encounter became her testimony, and her testimony helped lead others to Jesus.
Revelation 12:11
Scripture speaks about overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony.
Our testimony doesn't make us the hero.
It points people to the One who carried us.
Divine Appointments During a Healing Journey
When we're walking through healing, it's easy to become focused on reaching the other side.
We're praying for answers.
We're praying for change.
We're praying for healing.
We're asking God to show us what to do next.
But sometimes we need to look around and ask:
Who has God placed beside me while I'm walking?
Maybe it's someone who has been through something similar.
Maybe it's someone with wisdom you didn't have.
Maybe it's a medical professional who listens and helps you understand your options.
Maybe it's someone who continually points you back to Scripture when fear gets loud.
Maybe it's simply someone willing to sit beside you and say:
“I've been there. You don't have to walk through this alone.”
People are not our healer—but God can use people as part of His provision, encouragement, wisdom, and community along the way.
How Do I Know If Something Is a Divine Appointment?
We don't have to call every unexpected encounter a divine appointment or assume every coincidence is a direct message from God.
Instead, we can prayerfully pay attention.
Ask:
1. Does this align with Scripture?God's leading will never require us to contradict His Word.
2. Does this point toward God or toward me?Is this about serving someone, loving them, encouraging them, or pointing them toward Christ? Or am I trying to make myself spiritually important?
3. What fruit is coming from it?Is there truth, encouragement, wisdom, love, repentance, connection, or greater dependence on God?
4. Have I prayed about it?Sometimes our prayer can simply be:“God, if You're doing something here, help me recognize it.”
5. Am I willing to obey without knowing the outcome?Sometimes God asks us to take the next step before we understand why.
What If YOU Are the Divine Appointment?
We often pray:
“God, send me the right people.”
But what if we also started praying:
“God, show me who You're sending me to.”
Maybe somebody needs the Scripture that's been carrying you.
Maybe somebody needs the encouragement you almost didn't send.
Maybe someone needs you to stop long enough to listen.
And maybe somebody needs to hear the testimony you've been hesitant to share.
The thing God brought you through may not end with you.
Your story may eventually reach someone standing where you once stood.
Share Your Healing Testimony
This is one of the reasons I'm so excited about what's coming to Healing Through Scripture.
I'm beginning to invite people from this community to potentially join me on the podcast and share their own healing testimonies.
And when I say healing, I don't only mean physical healing.
Maybe your story involves grief, relationships, infertility, loss, fear, addiction in your family, emotional healing, a diagnosis, restoration, or another season where God met you in a way you don't want to keep to yourself.
If you feel led to share your story, fill out the Healing Testimony form through the link in my bio/Beacon to tell me a little about what God has brought you through and express interest in a future podcast conversation.
Because someone may be praying:
“God, please send me someone who understands.”
And what if hearing your testimony becomes part of the encouragement they needed?
Walk It Out With God
This week, take this question with you on your walk:
“God, who have You placed along my path and where might You be asking me to show up for someone else?”
Take 10 intentional minutes.
Get outside.
Move your body.
Put away the distractions.
Take one Scripture with you and spend uninterrupted time with God.
You don't need an elaborate routine.
One Step. One Scripture. One Day at a Time.
A Prayer for Divine Appointments
Father,
Thank You that You see the entire road when I can only see the step in front of me.
Thank You for the people You've placed in my life during the moments I've needed them most.
Give me discernment to recognize Your leading without chasing signs or trying to manufacture meaning from every circumstance.
Keep me grounded in Your Word.
And make me available.
If someone needs encouragement, help me notice.
If someone needs to hear what You've brought me through, give me courage to share it.
If someone needs a Scripture, bring Your Word to my mind.
And if someone simply needs someone to sit beside them, teach me to stay.
For the person walking through a healing season today, surround them with wisdom, encouragement, community, and people who continually point them back to You.
Use what You've brought us through to bring hope to someone coming behind us.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Continue Your Healing Journey
If you're walking through your own healing season, I've created a free Healing Journey resource with Scriptures, encouragement, mindset shifts, and some of the things I wish I had known while walking through my own journey.

maybe don't ignore that.
Send it to them.

Have you ever prayed about something, had a thought come into your mind, and immediately wondered:
“Was that God speaking to me…or was that just me?”
Maybe you’re trying to make a decision.
Maybe you’ve been praying for direction.
Maybe something unexpectedly came to mind and you wondered if God was putting it on your heart.
Or maybe you already know what you want—and now you’re struggling to tell the difference between your desires and God’s direction.
So how do we actually know?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we’re talking about biblical discernment and how we can test what we think we’re hearing instead of automatically assigning God’s authority to every thought that enters our minds.
Because God’s guidance isn’t something we have to figure out by chasing signs, analyzing every coincidence, or becoming paralyzed because we’re terrified of making the wrong decision.
We have something solid to come back to:
His Word.
The more familiar we become with God’s Word, His character, and His truth, the better equipped we are to recognize what aligns with Him—and what doesn’t.
In This Episode
We’re talking about:
How to know if God is speaking to you or if it’s your own thoughts
What it can look like when God doesn’t speak to us audibly
Why not every unexpected thought should automatically be labeled “God”
How Scripture tells us to test what we hear
Why the Bible should be our first filter for discernment
How to distinguish biblical conviction from condemnation
Whether fear means something isn’t from God
Why an open door doesn’t automatically mean it’s God’s will
Why a difficult road doesn’t necessarily mean God is closing the door
How our own desires can influence what we think God is telling us
The importance of checking our motives
How to look at the fruit a decision or thought is producing
Why sometimes discernment requires waiting
What to do when you’re terrified of making the wrong decision
How spending more time in Scripture helps us become increasingly familiar with God’s character
Scriptures From This Episode
1 John 4:1 — Don’t believe everything without discernment; test what you’re hearing.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 — “Test everything; hold fast what is good.”
2 Timothy 1:7 — God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Romans 8:1 — There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 26:36–46 — Jesus in Gethsemane: honestly expressing His desire while remaining surrendered to the Father’s will.
Matthew 7:16–20 — Recognizing something by its fruit.
Galatians 5:22–23 — The fruit of the Spirit.
James 1:5 — Asking God for wisdom when we lack it.
5 Questions to Ask When You’re Not Sure
When you find yourself thinking, “Was that God or was that me?”, don’t panic and don’t immediately chase another sign.
Pause and ask:
1. Does it align with Scripture?God’s leading will not require us to contradict what He has already revealed in His Word.
2. Does it align with God’s character?Compare what you believe you’re hearing with who Scripture tells us God is.
3. What are my motives?Am I genuinely asking God to lead me—or have I already decided what I want and I’m asking Him to approve it?
4. What fruit is this producing? Is it moving me toward truth, obedience, humility, love, and the fruit of the Spirit?
5. Have I given God room to redirect me?Have I prayed, searched Scripture, sought wisdom, allowed time when possible, and remained willing for God’s answer to look different from mine?
Conviction or Condemnation?
There’s an important difference.
Conviction says:“This needs to change.”
Condemnation says:“You’ll never change.”
Conviction brings something into the light and draws us toward repentance and God.
Condemnation tries to bury us beneath shame and make us hide from Him.
That’s why we have to know Scripture.
When a thought tells you that you’re worthless, hopeless, abandoned, unforgivable, or too far gone, you can hold that thought against what God has already said.
What About Open and Closed Doors?
Circumstances can give us information, but circumstances shouldn’t become our Bible.
An opportunity going smoothly doesn’t automatically prove:
“This must be God.”
And resistance doesn’t automatically mean:
“God must be telling me no.”
Sometimes obedience itself leads through difficult places.
So we notice circumstances—but we continue bringing them back to Scripture, prayer, wisdom, motives, and fruit.
Before You Ask God for Another Sign…
Open His Word.
Sometimes we’re asking God to speak while the Bible is sitting unopened beside us.
Scripture may not tell you which job offer to accept, which house to purchase, or exactly what will happen next.
But it reveals something even more foundational:
Who God is.
And the more time we spend with Him, the more familiar His character becomes.
Think about someone you love calling you on the phone.
They don’t always have to identify themselves.
You’ve spent enough time with them that you recognize their voice.
Our goal isn’t to obsess over every thought trying to determine whether it came directly from God.
Our goal is to become increasingly familiar with God’s Word and character so we have a biblical foundation for discernment.
A Prayer for Discernment
Father, give me wisdom and discernment.
Where fear is loud, bring me back to truth.
Where my own desires are loud, teach me surrender.
Where I’m rushing, give me patience.
Where I’m confused, lead me back to Your Word.
Help me recognize what aligns with Your character and have the humility to be redirected when it doesn’t.
When You convict me, give me courage to obey.
When You ask me to wait, give me patience.
And when You’ve given me enough wisdom to move, give me courage to take the next step.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

Have you ever noticed that when life finally gets quiet…you have a hard time trusting the quiet?
Maybe you've been through one hard season after another. Just when you think you can finally catch your breath, something else happens.
Eventually, you start waiting for the other shoe to drop.
The phone rings, and your stomach sinks.
You receive good news, but immediately wonder what the next test will show.
Things are going well with your family, finances, or health, but instead of enjoying the peace, part of you is already preparing for the next problem.
So how do we stop expecting the worst after we've experienced enough hard things to know that difficult things really can happen?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're talking about the difference between biblical wisdom and living constantly braced for impact and what God's Word teaches us about worrying about tomorrow, trusting God after hard seasons, and learning to receive the peace He's given us today.
Because faith isn't believing nothing difficult will ever happen again.
It's learning to believe:
Whatever tomorrow holds, God will already be there.
In This Episode
We're talking about:
Why you may always feel like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop
What happens when one difficult season seems to follow another
Why peace can actually feel uncomfortable after prolonged uncertainty
The difference between preparing wisely and living in fear
Why worry can feel productive even though it doesn't give us control
What Jesus says about worrying about tomorrow in Matthew 6
Why we don't need to borrow tomorrow's trouble and carry it today
What Israel's daily manna teaches us about trusting God one day at a time
How fear can show up without becoming the truth we agree with
How gratitude brings our minds back to the present
Five practical ways to stop rehearsing worst-case scenarios
How to trust God with the people we love when we can't control their future
Why ordinary, peaceful days are gifts we're allowed to enjoy
Scriptures From This Episode
Matthew 6:25–34 — Jesus' teaching about worry, God's provision, and tomorrow.
Matthew 6:34 — “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”
Exodus 16 — God provides manna one day at a time, teaching Israel daily dependence.
Psalm 56:3 — “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Philippians 4:6–7 — Bringing anxiety to God through prayer, petition, and thanksgiving and receiving His peace.
The Question to Ask Yourself This Week
Am I responding to what's actually happening today…or am I living today in preparation for something that hasn't happened?
Sometimes we've experienced so much difficulty that anticipating another problem feels like protection.
But worrying about tomorrow doesn't make tomorrow easier.
It can simply rob us of the peace, provision, relationships, laughter, ordinary moments, and goodness God has placed in front of us today.
You don't have to create tomorrow's storm to justify today's peace.
Receive the quiet.
Receive the ordinary day.
Receive today's manna.
And trust God again tomorrow.
Your Homework This Week
Read Matthew 6:25–34 slowly and pay attention to the way Jesus uses creation to teach us about God's provision.
Then listen to:
“Like You Love Me” — Tauren Wells
“Sparrows” — Cory Asbury
Both beautifully echo the biblical imagery of God's care and provision.
Then take this question to God:
“Father, what am I carrying today that belongs to tomorrow?”
When He brings something to mind, practice giving it back to Him.
Walk It Out With God
Learning to return my mind to today became an important part of my own healing journey.
Sometimes that looks very practical:
Get outside.
Move your body.
Get some fresh air and sunshine.
Put away the distractions.
Take one Scripture with you.
And spend ten uninterrupted minutes talking with God.
You don't need to solve the next six months during that walk.
Just meet Him today.
10 minutes.One Step.One Scripture.One Day at a Time.
That's the heart behind Walk It Out with God.

Finding God When Healing Didn't Look the Way You Prayed
What happens when you prayed for healing, believed God could heal, stood in faith...and still lost someone you love?
How do you reconcile faith and grief when the answer to your prayer looks nothing like what you hoped for?
And perhaps the hardest question:
Where is God when the healing you prayed for doesn't happen?
This is one of the most tender conversations we've had on Healing Through Scripture.
In this episode, we're not trying to explain away loss with a quick Christian answer. We're not pretending grief doesn't hurt. And we're certainly not suggesting that if someone had prayed harder, believed more, or had stronger faith, the outcome would have been different.
Instead, we're going directly to God's Word.
Through the story of Lazarus in John 11, we'll look at Martha and Mary's heartbreaking words to Jesus:
"Lord, if You had been here..."
We'll see something remarkable in Jesus' response.
He doesn't shame their questions.
He doesn't rush their grief.
Jesus weeps with them.
We'll also explore what Scripture teaches about grieving with hope, unanswered prayer, biblical lament, praying for healing after loss, and trusting God's character when we don't understand His ways.
Because faith doesn't mean pretending something doesn't hurt.
Sometimes faith simply sounds like:
"God, I don't understand this...but I'm bringing my broken heart to You."
In This Episode
We talk about:
What to do when you prayed for healing and someone still died
Why unanswered prayer doesn't necessarily mean you lacked faith
Martha and Mary's response to Lazarus' death in John 11
Why "Jesus wept" matters so deeply when we're grieving
Whether Christians are allowed to question God
The biblical difference between grieving and grieving without hope
What lament looks like in Scripture
How to trust God when you don't understand what He allowed
How to pray for healing again after experiencing a devastating loss
What not to say to someone who's grieving
How to comfort someone without trying to explain their suffering
Why we don't have to manufacture answers God hasn't given us
How resurrection changes the Christian understanding of death
Practical ways to keep walking with God through grief
Scriptures in This Episode
John 11:1–44 — Lazarus, Martha, Mary and Jesus
John 11:25 — "I am the resurrection and the life."
John 11:35 — "Jesus wept."
Psalm 34:18 — The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 — Grieving, but not without hope.
Romans 12:15 — Mourn with those who mourn.
Psalm 13 — Biblical lament and "How long, Lord?"
Job — Trusting God when we don't receive a tidy explanation for suffering.
Revelation 21:4 — The promise of a day with no more death, mourning, crying or pain.
A Truth to Hold Onto
You can have questions...
and still have faith.
You can grieve...
and still trust God.
You can believe God heals...
and still be devastated when healing doesn't look the way you prayed.
Biblical faith doesn't require us to deny our pain.
It teaches us where to take it.
If You're Grieving Right Now
You don't need to figure out the rest of your life today.
Maybe today's faithful step is simply:
"Jesus, I don't understand. Please stay close."
Tell God the truth.
Let people help carry you.
Stay near His Word, even if you can only hold onto one verse today.
Don't turn your loss into guilt.
And leave room for hope.
Because for those who belong to Christ, grief is real...
but so is resurrection.

What Does the Bible Really Say About Food and Healing? How God Taught Me to Steward My Body During My Healing Journey
After a diagnosis, everyone seems to have an opinion.
One person says, "Try this diet."
Another recommends a supplement.
Someone else insists there's only one right path.
It can quickly become overwhelming.
So how do we seek wisdom without becoming consumed by fear?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, I'm sharing one of the most personal conversations I've had on the podcast, what God taught me about stewarding the body He entrusted to me during my own healing journey.
This isn't an episode about finding the "perfect" diet or making medical claims.
It's about learning to seek God's wisdom, partner with trusted medical professionals, care for our bodies with gratitude, and keep Jesus at the center of every decision.
We'll explore what Scripture says about stewardship, renewing our minds, and honoring God with our bodies while remembering that our ultimate hope has never been in food, medicine, or our own efforts, but in Christ alone.
A QUICK NOTE BEFORE YOU LISTEN
This episode shares my personal experience and is not medical advice.
Every health journey is unique, and every treatment plan should be discussed with your healthcare team.
My prayer is simply to encourage you to seek wisdom, ask thoughtful questions, steward your health faithfully, and trust God through every season.
IN THIS EPISODE
My ovarian cancer diagnosis and what happened next
Why the first thing I had to let go of wasn't sugar, it was fear
What the Bible teaches about stewarding our bodies
The difference between fear-driven decisions and wisdom-led decisions
How I navigated conflicting health information
Why renewing your mind is just as important as nourishing your body
The practical changes I made during my healing journey
Five biblical questions to help you steward your own health with wisdom and peace
SCRIPTURES FEATURED
Genesis 1:29 — God's provision through creation
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 — Honoring God with our bodies
Romans 12:2 — Renewing our minds
James 1:5 — Asking God for wisdom
Proverbs 17:22 — A joyful heart is good medicine
Matthew 6:34 — Trusting God one day at a time
KEY TAKEAWAY
Healing isn't about chasing perfection.
It's about faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted to you.
We may not control every outcome, but we can choose to seek wisdom, care for our bodies, renew our minds through Scripture, and trust God with the results.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
This week, ask yourself:
✔️ Am I making health decisions from fear or from wisdom?
✔️ Am I spending more time consuming information than spending time with God?
✔️ What's one small step I can take to better steward the body God has given me?
✔️ Am I caring for my spiritual health as intentionally as my physical health?
✔️ How can I trust God with what I can't control while faithfully stewarding what I can?
Remember...
Healing often happens through daily faithfulness.
One step.
One Scripture.
One day at a time.

Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you're never doing enough?
Reading your Bible...Praying...Serving...Trying to be a "good Christian"...
Yet somehow, you still feel like you're falling short.
What if following Jesus was never meant to feel that heavy?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're diving into one of Jesus' most freeing teachings as we explore the difference between religion and relationship, performance and grace, and rules versus walking with Christ.
We'll unpack Jesus' words in Matthew 23, where He confronted the religious leaders for placing heavy burdens on people, and then discover His beautiful invitation in Matthew 11:28–30 to come to Him and find true rest.
If you've ever struggled with guilt, perfectionism, legalism, or feeling like you're never enough, this conversation will remind you that Jesus didn't come to add more burdens—He came to carry the ones you never could.
IN THIS EPISODE
Have we confused religion with a relationship with Jesus?
What Jesus meant when He said, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Understanding the historical context of Matthew 23 and Matthew 11
Why performance-based faith leaves us exhausted
The difference between conviction and guilt
How Jesus perfectly balanced truth and grace
Why Christianity was never meant to be about earning God's love
Five practical questions to help you grow in your walk with Christ
SCRIPTURES FEATURED

John 8:1–11 — The Woman Caught in Adultery
Matthew 7:1–5 — Remove the Plank First
Ephesians 2:8–9 — Saved by Grace Through Faith
KEY TAKEAWAY
Following Jesus was never meant to be about carrying heavier burdens.
It was always meant to be about walking more closely with Him.
Jesus didn't come to make faith harder.
He came to make a relationship with the Father possible through grace.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
This week, ask yourself:
✔️ Am I trying to earn something Jesus has already given me?
✔️ Am I carrying expectations that God never asked me to carry?
✔️ Does my faith draw me closer to Jesus—or leave me feeling like I'll never measure up?
✔️ Am I spending more time knowing about Jesus than actually spending time with Him?
✔️ What's one simple step I can take this week to grow my relationship with Christ?
Remember...
Healing often begins with one faithful decision.
One step.
One Scripture.
One day at a time.

The world feels louder than ever.
Every day brings another headline, another uncertainty, another reason to worry about tomorrow. Whether it's concerns about your health, finances, family, or simply the future, it can feel like peace is becoming harder and harder to find.
But what if the problem isn't the storm?
What if the real question is:
Where are you building your peace?
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we open Matthew 7 and unpack Jesus' powerful illustration of the wise and foolish builders. Together, we'll discover that Jesus never promised a storm-free life, but He did promise a foundation strong enough to withstand every storm.
We'll also dive into Isaiah 26:3, exploring what it truly means to experience God's "perfect peace" and why biblical peace has never depended on perfect circumstances.
If you've been feeling anxious about the future or overwhelmed by everything happening around you, this episode will remind you that while the world may be shaking, God never does.
IN THIS EPISODE
How to find peace in an uncertain world
What the Bible says about fear and anxiety
Why Christians can have peace even when life feels unstable
Understanding Jesus' teaching about the wise and foolish builders
Why storms reveal our foundation rather than create it
The true meaning of Isaiah 26:3
How to stop building your peace on circumstances
Five practical ways to strengthen your faith during difficult seasons
Why God's Word is the strongest foundation you'll ever build on
SCRIPTURES FEATURED
Matthew 7:24–27 — The Wise and Foolish Builders
Isaiah 26:3 — Perfect Peace
Matthew 6:34 — Do Not Worry About Tomorrow
Hebrews 13:8 — Jesus Christ Is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever
Psalm 46:1–3 — God Is Our Refuge and Strength
KEY TAKEAWAY
Storms don't create our foundation.
They reveal it.
The question isn't whether storms will come.
The question is:
What have you been building your life on before the storm arrives?
When our peace is built on circumstances, it rises and falls with every headline.
When our peace is built on Christ, we can remain steady even when everything around us feels uncertain.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
This week, ask yourself:
✔️ What has my peace been resting on lately?
✔️ Am I spending more time listening to fear than listening to God's Word?
✔️ What would change if I started each day with Scripture before the headlines?
✔️ Where can I intentionally trust God instead of trying to control tomorrow?
✔️ What's one faithful step I can take today?
Remember...
Healing often begins with one decision at a time.
One step.
One Scripture.
One day at a time.
WALK IT OUT WITH GOD

Can you still struggle with fear after a clear scan?
If you've ever felt your heart race when your phone says, "Your lab results are ready," or found yourself anxious before every follow-up appointment, you're not alone.
One of the most overlooked parts of a healing journey is what happens after the diagnosis.
Whether you've walked through cancer, a life-threatening illness, a miscarriage, emergency surgery, or another traumatic medical event, the physical healing may have begun, but your mind and nervous system may still be carrying the weight of what happened.
In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're talking about medical PTSD and "scanxiety". The hidden battle that so many people face but few people talk about.
More importantly, we're looking at what God's Word says about fear, renewing our minds, and finding His peace even when old memories and anxious thoughts try to pull us backward.
If you've ever wondered...
"Why am I still afraid?"
...this episode is for you.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• What medical PTSD is and why it can happen after a diagnosis or serious illness
• Why fear after healing doesn't automatically mean you have weak faith
• The difference between your body remembering trauma and your heart trusting God
• What Scripture says about fear, peace, and renewing your mind
• Practical routines that helped me prepare for doctor's appointments, scans, and difficult moments
• How to replace "What if?" with God's promises
